Starr Regional Medical Center welcomes Matthew Marstin, DO

Starr Regional Medical Center announces that Matthew Marstin, DO, has joined its staff and will provide obstetrics and gynecology services to patients in Athens and the surrounding communities.
“We are excited to have Dr. Marstin join our team of OB/GYN providers at Starr Regional Medical Center. His training and experience in women’s healthcare, as well as pregnancy care, makes him an excellent addition to our team,” said John McLain, chief executive officer of Starr Regional Medical Center. “There is a need for OB/GYN providers in our area and Dr. Marstin’s expertise is important as Starr Regional Medical Center strives to meet our area’s evolving healthcare needs and make our community healthier.”
Dr. Marstin graduated from Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lynchburg, Va., in 2020. He competed an OB/GYN residency at McLaren Greater Lansing in Lansing, Mich., in June 2024. The program provided extensive experience in deliveries and surgeries, including spontaneous vaginal deliveries, operative deliveries, caesarean sections, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, robotic surgery, vaginal surgery and open surgery. Dr. Marstin specializes in women’s preventative care, comprehensive pregnancy care, Hysteroscopy, robotic and laparoscopic surgeries. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
In his free time, Dr. Marstin enjoys spending time with his family, as well as singing and playing a variety of instruments with family and friends. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, hunting and fishing, and participating in both backyard and organized sports.
